Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jamesenez , on September 2, 1966, is an American and Mexican actress and producer. Her film career began in Mexico in the telenovela Teresa, in which she was a lead in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) that brought her an Ariel Award nomination. With roles in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999) She quickly made her mark in Hollywood. Hayek's portrayal of Frida Kahlo as a painter in Frida (2002), a biographical feature she created which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6]. In addition, she received her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films, while starring in action-oriented movies like Once Upon a Time in Mexico in subsequent years.
