Adele

AdeleAdele Mara April 28, 1923 until May 7, 2010.) was an American singer, actress, and dancer, who appeared in films during the 1940s and 1950s[2] and on television in the 1950s and 1960s. As a professional under the name Adele St. Mara, she signed a contract with Columbia Pictures [citation required] and began to work in the studio's "B" features as well as comedy shorts. The title was later changed to Adele Mara. One of her first roles was that of a receptionist in the Three Stooges film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara as well as Leslie Brooks played the sisters of Rita Hayworth's character the Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks is the female lead part in Alias Boston Blackie (1942) and plays the sister of an wrongly charged and freed convict. The film was released by Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was terminated. In Republic Pictures, she was a part of Westerns and outdoor adventure. [citation needed] She starred in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch with John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima in which John Agar was John's love interest, California Passage and Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
