While working on Heroes , Larter made several appearances on film. Larter earned seven-figure sums for her first Bollywood movie Marigold. The film received mostly bad reviews. Also, she was a part of Resident Evil: Extinction , part 3 of the cult movie franchise based upon the Capcom video games. She was "Claire Redfield" which was based on the game's character with the similar name. The movie was a box office success tripling its production budget, albeit being a critical flop. Larter was also in the movie, a caveman-themed comedy Homo Erectus which was released direct-to-DVD. Hayes MacArthur was the co-star of the film, as she was previously engaged to his. Larter starred opposite Beyonce and Idris Elba in the thriller Obsessed . Film opened number one in the market, however it wasn't well-received by film critics. They compared the film to Fatal Attraction.
