Lita Rossana Ford - also known as Lita Ford - is an American guitar player, singer and songwriter British heritage. In the late 1970s, she served as a lead guitarist with the girl-only hard rock group The Runaways. Although the band did not make much progress in the US, they were hugely popular in other countries. It was particularly true in Japan. Ford started a heavy metal solo career when the group broke up in 1979. She started taking voice classes and soon released her first album 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford could not do much with either album, and then she decided to leave the rock scene for about a decade. In 1988, Ford returned to the limelight with her hit album "Lita". The lead track "Kiss Me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hit songs. However, the popularity that she had achieved was brief and over a long period of time she was absent from the world of entertainment. In 1995, she released 'Black and then a couple of years following, "Wicked wonderland" was released, she returned to the scene. Her latest album was released in 2016, titled 'Time Capsule. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
