At the height of popularity for Despacito 19, 19 songs mostly in Spanish made it to the Billboard Top 100. In 2020, there will be 41 songs within this genre. Following the time that Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in 2017, the most well-known artists began to join forces with reggaeton musicians. Drake and Bad Bunny collaborated for the track MIA MIA (2018), while Madonna joined forces with Maluma to record Medellin, 2019 In 2020, a few Reggaeton performers were expressing displeasure about the trend of the genre towards the mainstream. Yet, a young generation, such as Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the trend going. He incorporated electronic dance styles as well as other styles into his music.
